Guest Lecture – Leyla Acaroglu – EcoInnovators / The Secret Life of Things
Leyla Acaroglu is the director of Eco Innovators, a Melbourne based eco design consultancy focused on providing innovative sustainability services to the design, production and consumption industries.

Leyla has had several years experience in sustainable design, production and consumption, specifically eco-design methodology and application. She has an Honours Degree in Social Science Environment from RMIT University and a Diploma of Product Design and Development from Enmore Design Centre. She has worked with leading eco-design organisations including TU Delt, PT Milan, PRe Consultants and the Eco Design Centre Wales.

In this special guest lecture Leyla will be focusing on the theme of life cycle thinking and sustainability in design.  A must-see for anyone interested in social and environmentally responsible design practices.

Film Screening – ‘Helvetica: The Movie’ (2002)
A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit.

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which celebrated its 50th birthday in 2007) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. Helvetica has been shown at over 200 film festivals, museums, design conferences, and cinemas worldwide, and is now available on DVD.
